Only a runner would understand…

You know you’re recovering nicely from your race when:

Your toilet no longer reminds you of a medieval torture device.

Get Over It.

Our second Full Marathon is coming up a week from today.

I found myself feeling nervous, uncertain & fearful.

I was skeered. 🙂

This was the thought that was foremost on my mind this week.

February 16th is going to be a great day!

motivation?

These signs are posted along one of our routes, and yes, that is my beautiful girl in these pictures ❤ :

Sometimes I look at the signs and think how nice it was that someone put them there.

Such motivation!

Other times as I’m running towards them, the only thought that comes to mind is,

“Oh shut up.”

You can relate, can’t you?

Sad

but

true.

DUNERYDID!

I am currently training to run the Mercedes Marathon for a SECOND time this February.

Today, the Hal Higdon Novice 2 Marathon Training Program called for an 11 mile run.  Less than half way through the run, I was really struggling.

Hence, the following short conversation:

Brain:  So you really think that you’re going to run a marathon….

Me:  Why yes…YES…I do believe I will.

~AND THEN I JUST KEPT ON RUNNING~

It did get easier!  11 miles are officially in the books!

This reminds me of a quote that I can’t quite remember, but it goes something like this, “The man with the experience trumps the one with the theory.”

or

as one of my friends said to me one day……

This blog is for the birds!

You know you’re a runner when….

Despite their best efforts, your friends eyes glaze over when you start talking about running…again….

They try to be interested....really, they do...

They try to be interested….really, they do…

So you join interactive running websites and “like” FB pages where you can jibber jabber about running as much as you’d like.

You even write an entertaining RUNNING blog to organize all your thoughts, while hopefully inspiring others along the way!

…only to find that the most viewed,  MOST PINNED blog entry is quickly becoming the one you wrote about….

your sister’s CHICKENS!!!
